Six court rulings uphold Lleida.net’s Registered email as valid proof for mandatory ADR

MADRID, 16 April. The Spanish-listed tech firm Lleida.net (BME:LLN, EPA:ALLLN) has secured a significant legal victory as five Spanish Provincial Courts explicitly recognise its Registered Email service as a robust, admissible, and legally binding method to satisfy Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) requirements. Under Organic Law 1/2025, this pre-litigation step is now a mandatory prerequisite for legal proceedings.

The rulings are final and non-appealable.

In a standout case, the Provincial Court of Palma de Mallorca recently upheld a passenger's claim for a missed flight, citing Lleida.net’s technology as sufficient proof of the required pre-action contact.

Between October 2025 and March 2026, courts in Navarra, Gipuzkoa, Ourense, Huelva, and Álava issued independent orders confirming that the company’s registered communication system provides the full set of guarantees required by law. Specifically, it satisfies the burden of proof for negotiation attempts before filing civil or commercial lawsuits.

"The judiciary has sent a clear message: our Registered Email is a fully valid instrument for ADR certification. These rulings provide absolute legal certainty to the thousands of solicitors and legal professionals transitioning from legacy physical mail to our digital alternatives," said Sisco Sapena, CEO of Lleida.net.

“We continue to pioneer digital solutions that empower both corporations and consumers to meet evolving regulatory demands with full compliance,” Sapena added.

The courts highlighted that Lleida.net’s proprietary technology generates an irrefutable digital audit trail that certifies the sender’s identity, the integrity of the message, the precise timestamp, and the successful delivery to the recipient.

By granting this status, the Provincial Courts have functionally equated Registered Email with Special Delivery or certified post, granting it full legal weight under Article 17 of Law 1/2025.

The practical implications for the legal sector are immediate. Since the law’s inception, legal counsel must prove a "good faith" attempt at negotiation before a claim can be heard. Failure to provide admissible evidence of this attempt now leads to summary dismissal of the lawsuit.

Recent rulings from courts in Zaragoza and Granada have already confirmed the dismissal of lawsuits where the ADR attempt relied solely on conventional emails. The courts ruled that conventional emails lack legally binding certification and do not involve a trusted third party to guarantee the identity, content, and effective delivery of the communication

Founded in 1995, Lleida.net is a European leader in registered digital notification and e-signature services. With over 300 patents across 60 countries, the firm is listed on BME Growth, Euronext Growth, and the Frankfurt and Stuttgart exchanges.
