Lleida, 7 May 2014. Three last grade students from Universitat de Lleida , have been travelling round the world with the ultimate aim of giving UNICEF Kyrgyzstan an emergency ambulance. Smiles from Kyrgyzstan ambulance has been handed over to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan representatives in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyz Republic on May 6 in Bishkek thus contributing to provide medical assistance to rural areas with greater difficulties in accessing the healthcare system.

Lleida.net, attracted by the project and the entrepreneurial spirit of these three last grade students decided to support the project Somriures del Kirguizistán as the main sponsor, participating with and providing financial assistance as well as a satellite telephone connection.

Ana, Sergi and Roger have been driving during a month almost the 10,000 kilometres. that separate Lleida from Bishkek. They have gone through Colera (Girona), Chamonix (Francia), Zürich (Suiza), Prague ( Czech Republic), Witowice (Poland), Sosnowiec (Poland),Kraków (Poland), Pskov Oblast (Russia), Shakhovskaya (Russia), Nizhniy Lomov (Russia), Aktobe (Kazakhstan) Talas, Kyrgyzstan and Bishek (Kyrgyz Republic). We have been receiving from each and every city, town or village Stamphoto registered pictures thus providing legal validity and leaving the trip from Lleida to Kyrgyzstan certified. From now onwards, they will send us Stamphoto pictures from the different rural schools to create a full registered photo book 

Kyrgyzstan,officially the Kyrgyz Republic (formerly known as Kirghizia) is a country located in Central Asia landlocked and mountainous. Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the south west and China to the east. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan< is located in Central Asia, a country with 26.6% infant mortality rate, and 38% of the population living below poverty line.

Smiles from Kyrgyzstan ambulance left Lleida on Friday April 4, reaching Bishkek on May 2 (two days earlier than scheduled) and it was given to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan on May 6.

Somriures from Kyrgyzstan team will be back within a month, we are eager to learn about their adventures and experience .We are all enthralled and can't wait for more!
