Lleida.net sponsors Somriures del Kyrgyzstan, the international cooperation project

Lleida, 11 April 2014. Somriures del Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan smiles), that is how the three last year students from Universitat de Lleida has named their adventure of delivering an ambulance to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan. During the long trip, to show and share their activities and experiences, they will be sending certified pictures with Stamphoto app.

Somriures del Kyrgyzstan have departed from Lleida towards the Asian country in an emergency ambulance given by Ambulàncies de Catalunya (Catalonian Ambulances). The ambulance will be delivered to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan.

Lleida.net, attracted by the project and the entrepreneurial spirit of these three last grade students decided to support the project Somriures del Kyrgyzstan as the main sponsor, participating with and providing financial assistance as well as a satellite telephone connection. They journey is nearly about 10,000 km and it has been divided into 23 stages, going through France, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, crossing Russia from Kazakhstan to finally arrive in Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan officially the Kyrgyz Republic (formerly known as Kirghizia, is a country located in Central Asia Landlocked and mountainous, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the south west and China to the east. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan located in Central Asia, a country with 26.6% infant mortality rate, and 38% of the population living below poverty line.

To go witnessing this whole exciting journey and their subsequent activities once in Kyrgyzstan, the team will be sending on a daily basis certified pictures through their mobile phone connected via satellite and with Stamphoto app. The tool will allow them to mark each milestone in their journey with geolocate and certified photos with the date and time of the shot. Thanks to this experience the app would be tested in the most remote places and under extreme circumstances.

Somriures del Kyrgyzstan emergency ambulance left Lleida on April 4 and it is expected to arrive within a month. Once there,they will be welcomed by UNICEF Kyrgyzstan and for a month they will live in the Asian country doing several activities at rural schools in education and sport areas.
